A Grand Ledge Boy Killed By Auto
WAS RETURNING HOME FROM HIS WORK
When He Was Hit By A Passing Automobile
A very sad accident occurred Wednesday evening which snuffed out the life of a Grand Ledge youth Sherman L. Tidd and son Sherman V. aged seventeen years were returning from work In Lansing. They had ridden with fellow workmen as far as the Soper school house and were walking to their home In this city. When in front of the Martzke home the son stepped out on to the pavement in order to get around the mail box and was hit by a car that was being driven toward this city, the driver, Alvon Huss of Lansing immediately stopped for the boy whose head was crushed and rushed to St. Lawrence but he passed away at 9:20 that evening without regaining consclousness. He Is survived by a bride of seven weeks, his parents, three sisters, Mildred, Leona, and Leola; two grandmothers Nancy L. Tidd of Lansing and Dora Kelly of Greenville. The family seem (o have been followed by a persistent hoodoo, as their home on Willow St was partially destroyed by fire In October. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the community. The body was removed to the Smith Chapel, where funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. Interment will be made at Oakwood cemetery.
