MARCH 5.-David McCalpin died Feb 27, ’89, aged 69 years, 8 months and days. The funeral services took place March 1st, at the Delta: Center church conducted by Rev. J. H. Paimer of Lane ing. The Masonic fraternity, of whicl deceased was a member, were in atten dance. Deceased had been well. known in this vicinity many years, and by his kindnese to all and honorable dealing be gained many friends, which was mani fested by the large number present whe met to show their tribute of respect.

Quarterly meeting services will be held at the M. E. church in this place Saturday and Sunday, March 9th and 10th

Mr. Arthur Patterson has closed a suo cessful term of school in Dist. No. 8 During the term of four months one-off This pupils Miss Mary Dann, was neith wer absent nor tardy.

A full house at the spelling schoo Monday evening in Dist. No. 2, and Mrs Uriah Lasell spelled the olass down:

Miss Phebe Fleming, who resides with Mise Bater Frost, was agreeably surprised by about 20 of har school maten wisiting Ther recently.

Geo. O. Faller, accompanied by: Wan Gunson and his sister Versie, are visit ing relatives in Washington.

Mr. and Mrs. John Huxtable were-reminded of their wedding anniversaa Feb. 20th, by a good number of frien giving them a surprise visit. They als reminded John that it was his birthday. A good time to all.
