-M. L. Wilkinson has purchased the feed and seed store of C. Astley & Son.

-The members of the Baptist choir spent a very pleasant day picnicing on Long Island last Wednesday.

-Republican city caucuses to nominate delegates to the county convention, next Wednesday evening.

-De Witt Camp of the Modern Woodmen of America, will hold their annual picnic at the Islands to-morrow.

-The Tribune announces that Judge McPeek will address the Masonic picnic on “The Seven Islanda” July 30.

-The Republicans of Eaton county will elect delegates to the state covention next Thursday, at Charlotte.

-The flat-iron piece of land at the corner of Jones and Spring streets was purchased by the council Tuesday for the city.

-Miss Fiorence Ludwig, well-known to many in Grand Ledge, was married the 14th to Henry Herman, of LansIng.

-D. L. Kent has the foundation of his new bicycle shop on River street, east of the cutlery factory, nearly completed.

-The second ward Republican caucus will be held over A. E. Shadduck’s grocery store next Saturday

-Portland will have a balloon ascension and parachute drop next Saturday. The merchants of that place put up the shekels.

-State Bank Commissioner Sherlotte wood last Saturday called on all the state banks to report their condition at the close of business July 1.

-A. E. Shadduck commenced Tuesday to build on to his residence recently purchased of R. G. Pipp, and also to make other Improvements in the same

-The barn of Chas Bobinson, of Windsor, burned to the ground Tuesday night. One horse and all its hay and wheat was destroyed by the fire. The Cause of fire unknown.

-Frank Godfrey, at one time state printer and editor of the State Republican at Lansing, is under arrest for passing a fraudulent check for $35.  -Mason Democrat.

-“Compliments of Berry’s hired man” was the mange which accompanied a basket of fine fruit to this office last Monday, and for which the comps. were duly grateful.

-W. D. McMillan has purchased the Mart Williams cottage on Scott street, and Sam White is building an addition thereto.  It will be occupied by Mr. McMillan as completed.
