Ballevue Gazette: A stranger, ropre senting himself a man of wealth, en- gaged the services of a prominent farmer the first of the week and bought up a carload or two of horses to be delivered Monday. He ordered a lot of stable room at Vannocker’s, a number of halters at Eldred’s, and arranged for board at Spaulding’s. He then burrowed fire dollars and when last scen was waiting toward Battle Creek. Caution is becoming one of the cardinal virtues.
