Mayor Edwards and Alderman Tucker with their wives will go to Detroit Sunday, where they will join a party of 150, composed of Masonic Grand Lodge officers of Michigan, their wives and friends, and will go to Washington, D. C., by special train for a week’s recreation and pleasure.

Another of those pleasant annual gatherings is being held today at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Shane, who are observing Mrs. Shane’s 78th birthday. On Sunday a birthday dinner will be served at their home on Pleasant street at which the four sons, D. D., W. G., W. W. of this city, and families, and Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Shane of Ban croft will be present.

The marriage of Claude J. Burrier of this city and Nellie Zels of Tif fin, Ohio, occurred at the M. E. par sonage at 11 o’clock Saturday fore noon, Rev. C. A. Pollok officiating. The young couple were attended by the groom’s niece, Miss Ona M. Wat son, and after the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Burrier left on the 12:27 train for Tiffin, where they will spend about 10 days with the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Zels, before returning to Grand Ledge to reside. The young couple have the best wishes of their many friends for a happy future.
