Richard F. Johnson Obituary

Richard F. Johnson, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Johnson, was born in Grand Ledge, in 1856, and died October 14, 1912, on his farm three miles northwest of Potterville, after being in poor health several months, his illness terminating in paralysis. In 1870 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Amy Walker, To this union was born one son, Emory. Besides his wife and son, he leaves to mourn his loss, his aged mother, one sister and four brothers, who are: Melvin, of Hastings; Charles, of Eagle; Austin, of Oneida, and Fred, living in Lansing.

Mr. Johnson’s boyhood days were spent in and around Grand Ledge. He moved, with his parents, to Benton when 17 years and spent the remainder of his life there, with the exception of 22 months in the west. He was a member of the Masons, Modern Woodmen and Gleaners.

The funeral was held Thursday at the M. E. church, the service being conducted by Rev. Kilmer, and the Masonic lodge of Potterville, Interment at Maple Hill, Charlotte.
