Emri Wells
Emri Wells passed away at his home in St. Louis, Mich., last Saturday morning, after everal weeks illness. Funeral services were held there on Monday ad the remains brought to this city Tuesday afternoon, and, accompanied by members of the local Masonic fraternity, were taken to Delta Center for interment. Prayer was given at the grave by Rev Glenn Stewart of the Congi church, and a short ritualistic service given by the Masons.
Deceased was born in Pennsylvania 77 years ago and when a child came to Michigan with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thurston Wells. Shortly after locating in Michigan, near Albion, his father died. In a few years his mother remarried and came with her family to Delta, where deceased grew to manhood. When 21 years of age he was united in marriage to Miss Amy Lewis and to them were born four children, those surviving being County Clerk Hayes Wells of Charlotte and B. T. Wells of near Alma.
About twenty years ago he married Mrs. Orpha Gilmore and moved to St. Louis, where he has since resided.
Besides the widow and two sons he is survived by one half-sister, Mrs. Wm. Williams, and one half-brother, John Byxby of this city.
