33rd Degree Mason
R. E. Olds of Lansing who is a brother of Mrs. George Sheets, formerly of this city, was made a thirty-third degree mason, at Pittsburgh, Tuesday, during the annual gathering of the members of that degree in session in that city.
The degree is one which is given only as a reward and is one for which application cannot be made, but is elective.
In many cases the degree is awarded to a Mason for achievements in Masonic work, but in the case of Olds it was for his industrial service to the country, it was announced.
