John E. Howard
The funeral services of John E. Howard were held at the home of his mother, Mrs. Lucinda Howard, Monday afternoon, May 11, Rev. Mumford of Lansing conducting the services. The Masonic order from Wacousta, of which Mr. Howard was a member, attended in a body. There were many beautiful flowers, among them a design of a square and compass presented by the Masons. Fred Dart of Wacousta took charge of the singing. Mr. Howard was born on the old homestead where he died. If he had lived until August he would have been forty years old. His health has been very poor for several years, but not so seriously until this winter, when consumption claimed another victim. He leaves an aged mother, a loving wife and two children, a boy of eight years and a daughter eighteen months old, also one sister, Mrs. Sam Leonard, and a host of relatives and friends. His wife and little ones have the sympathy of the whole community.
