Forest Griffin has been ill during the past week with the influenza. Dale Bills drove to Grand Rapids Thursday where he attended a tire dealers banquet.

Mr. and Mrs. Will Grove of Potterville spent Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. Ben Gee.

Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Pratt spent Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. D. Lance near Eagle

Mrs. L. E. Elliott, of Detroit, spent Monday with her sister, Mrs. Arthur Rossman.

Ralph Shipman of Lansing spent Sunday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.. Lee Shipman.

Mrs. Will Gee of Portland has been spending the past few days with Mr. and Mrs. Ben Gee.

V. C. Lawrence was in Hastings on Monday and Tuesday to see his sister, Mrs. Fred Eaton, who is very ill.

Miss A. McCurdy and Glenn Shipp. of Lansing, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Chappell, last Sunday.

Miss Nita Chute, of Ypsilanti, returned Sunday after visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Chute.

Carl Schilz, a student at Albion college, spent last week end with his parents, Dr. and Mrs. E. A. Schilz.

Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Williams and daughter, of Bay City were guests of \ Mr. and Mrs. G. A Porter last Monday.

Miss Helen Kerr, of Eagle, and Carol Patten, of Lansing, were Sunday guests of Mr and Mrs. John Patten.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Beltz and Mr. and Mrs. Lester L. Beltz, of Lansing, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Garrett Burns.

Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Jager and Miss Maude Jury ofthe Sanitarium at Howell, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Morris Jury.

Esther Richard, of Albion college, returned last Sunday after spending three days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Richard.

Miss Ercell Oliver and friend; Annalaura Baird, of Albion college, will spend this weck end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Oliver.

Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Kiser entertained Mr. and Mrs. Miles Stark and daughter, Janett, and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Doty and son Stuart last Sunday.

Warren Heselschwerdt, of Jackson, spent the week end with his family and Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Shane. Mr. Heselschwerdt and family expect to move to Jackson soon.

Mr. and Mrs. B. G. Cameron and children spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Cameron in Lansing. John Cameron of Milford, was also a guest of the Camerons in Lansing.

Mrs. W. L. Hall was called to Reece Thursday to see her daughter, Mrs. Frederic Parker. Mrs. Parker, in falling down stais recently tore the ligiments in one of her limbs so that she is unable to walk.

Watch for the program in next week’s issue of a meeting on Friday afternoon, March 7th, in the Methodist church, the program to be given by the ladies of the Congregational,” Baptist and Methodist churches.

Members of the Masonic fraternity here have a vision of an imposing Masonic Temple in Grand Ledge, comparable to the structure which is such a credit to Charlotte. A committee has been appointed to take up the matter. A number of Grand Ledge people were pleased to hear Frances Long Harris sing in the Detroit raido program Monday evening. Frances Long grew up in this city and has many tin.es delightfully entertained with her singing on various programs.

Miss Reva Ludbrook and Miss Edna Dwight, of Albion college will spend this week end with Mr. and Mrs. H. Ludbrook. Miss Ludbrook will have as a guest a college mate, Miss Esther Wooten, of Marshall. Miss Wooten formerly lived in this city.

The Gleaners of Oneida Center held a bee last Monday for Frank Brunger, who is very Ill, and cut a large amount of wood for the family. This kind and thoughtful act is deeply appreciated by both Mr. and Mrs. Frunger and shows a real neighborly spirit.

Lyle Bennett, Howard Prescott and Hollis Luce are languishing in the county fall in Charlotte having plead guilty to thievery. Bennett and Prescott stole wire from the Consumers Power company and Luce took a coat. Each mau’ was sentenced to 30 to 40 days in Jail and $10 costs with an additional 10 days if costs were not paid.

When the Grand Ledge bus was driving to Grand Ledge from Lansing through the recent big snow storm, a Ford car approaching suddenly lit a drift of snow, turned, and. slewed directly, into the path of the bus. Only quick action on the part of the driver averted an accident. He turned and drove into the ditch. In this way, no harm was done to passengers or cars. R. A. Grant on his way. to Lansing with his big red truck arrived in time to pull the bus out of the ditch.

Mr. and Mrs. Brazee, of Kalamazoo, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Brazee, of Milwaukee, Wis, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Brazee, of Tecumseh, Mich., Mr. and Mrs. Fred Shanes, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Trumble, Mr. and Mrs. Heeson Perry, and Mrs. Sarah Trumble, of Lansing, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Omspocker and daughter, of Charlotte, Mrs. Nelle Hall, of Toledo, O., and Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Hause of Poplar Grove, IIl., were among those from outside the city who attended the funeral of Bert Brazee on Wednesday.
