The Masonic Temple the New Years Party

The Newly acquired building which has been converted into a Masonic Temple worthy of the name is 24×68 ft. It has been remodeled, painted, rewired, a fine new hard wood floor in one room fitted up for a Community hall, also partitions taken down converting another part into a large clubroom-all owing to the enterprising, energetic, enthusiastic and ambitious members of the Masonic Lodge ably assisted by the O. E. S.

On New Year’s Eve a party was staged under the direction of Leon Schavey, who, certainly has all the qualifications, determintion and all to carry out a social project.

About 300 were present who thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Hastings Orchestra played during the supper hour, followed by a program. After an hour or two with fickle paste-boards those who cared to tripped the light fantastic toe.

The Masons are of the belief that all social functions shall be so conducted and supervised that they shall reflect for good. The special New Year’s music rendered by the Hastings band was much appreciated. The cities represented were Detroit, Lansing, Grand Ledge, Charlotte, Middleville, Portland, Lowell.
