The Masonic Lodge, of Grand Ledge is one of the livest lodges of the state. The new officers are full of enthusiasm and are working with a vim to make this a record year.
Wednesday evening was full of good things for the members Degrees were conferred upon seven candidates which for the large number a convocation was called at four in the afternoon.
At six-thirty a banquet under the direction of Fred Van Dyken was held in the dining rooms for the newly made members. After a hearty dinner Frank C. Arms who was chosen toastmaster, in well chosen words of introduction, called upon Rev. J. E. Foots and W. G. Shane. Mr. Foote gave an excellent talk on some of the symbolism with his interpretation for the instruction of the class as well as the older members. Mr. Shane told of his interest in and work for the Order of Demolays from which some of the new members received their inspiration to become Masons. Charles Porter, whose interpretation of the work is always enjoyed by the members gave the lecture, which made a deep impression upon the candidates. About seventy five were in attendance for the feast of good things..
The young men who completed this important step in Masanry were Don Bills, Archie King, Harry Trim, Tom and Lawrence Brooks, Otto Dickinson and Fred Guild.
